Manufacturing & Machining Engineer

Position Description:

  • Full-Time, Direct Hire
  • First Shift, ~50 Hours Per Week

Position Summary:

  • The Manufacturing Engineer initiates the production processes to fulfill customer requirements, provides ongoing coordination and support for the machining operations, and evaluates completed production processes to determine costs and opportunities for ongoing improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Customer interaction: receive requests, communicate and confirm requirements, communicate ongoing progress, resolve open issues.
  • Production interaction: coordinate material sourcing with vendors and machining operations with shop foreman and resolve production issues.
  • Technical drawing: generate production drawings suitable for machining.
  • Quoting: estimate material and labor costs, generate and send quotes to customers.
  • Job routing: Utilize machining experience and expertise to clearly define and communicate material requirements and manufacturing processes for individual jobs to ensure cost-effective and timely production with reliable quality.
  • Order entry: Enter orders with appropriate due dates, shipping information, and relevant customer instructions.
  • Purchasing: procure required materials and tooling for jobs as well as miscellaneous production supplies and tools for shop.
  • Job scheduling: prioritize and schedule work in process to balance machine loads and delivery requirements.
  • Job costing: review time and materials used and input into computer database to determine the costs of completed jobs.
  • Continuing Improvement: collaborate with shop foreman to improve machining processes, tooling,

Qualifications and Key Proficiencies:

  • 5 years machining experience, with competence in both milling and turning. Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Technical drawings: reading and generating technical drawings, use of Computer-Aided Drawing (including solid modeling)

Machinist

Position Description:

  • Full-Time, Direct Hire
  • First Shift
  • Hourly Wage + Performance Bonuses + Benefits (Health, Life, LTD, Paid Vacation, 401k with Company Match)

Position Summary:

  • The machinist will make use of extensive experience in the use of manual machine tools, ability to read technical drawings, and reliance on written technical communications to manufacture new and repaired machine components for use in a wide variety of manufacturing industries.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Machine Shop Production: Employee will make use of standard machine tools (saws, lathes, mills, abrasive tools, etc) and hand tools in conjunction with technical drawings and written instructions to manufacture new and repaired components for a wide variety of manufacturing and industrial equipment.
  • Safe Conduct: Employee will take care to operate in a manner that ensures the highest level of safety for himself and co-workers.
  • Care of Equipment: Employee will use tools and equipment in their intended manner, with proper care taken for daily and periodic preventive maintenance.
  • Quality Manufacturing: Employee will take care to produce parts according to the requirements set forth in relevant drawings and instructions, and will use standard measurement tools and techniques to verify the accuracy of the parts.
  • Production Efficiency: Employee will work diligently and deliberately in order to achieve increasing degrees of efficiency in production.
  • Collaboration and Continual Improvement: Employee will be responsible for refining skills and acquiring expertise through collaboration with coworkers. Similarly, employee will assist coworkers in accomplishing the same.

Qualifications and Key Proficiencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years as a machinist with particular experience in relevant machines and operations, particularly large manual lathes and mills
  • Reliable transportation and attendance
